Whisky has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. What was considered as a drink consumed by older gentlemen in stuffy rooms has now been embraced by a younger generation who enjoy the complexity that whisky offers.
While many people know that whisky is a distilled liquor, not a lot actually understand the intricacies of the whisky-making process. Irish whisky brand Jameson hopes to address this with its Jameson Distillery on Tour. Located at the Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City, this is the first time that the Jameson Distillery on Tour will find itself in Asia.

Participants will be able to take a peek behind the curtains as Jameson staff and brand ambassadors take each group through the whisky-making process, from the malting of the barley, the brewing of the mash, to the triple distillation process that Jameson is known for, all the way to the aging in the barrels and how the type of wood used affects the whisky.
To further emphasize these steps, the Distillery On Tour showroom features 6 stations which allow participants to personally experience the effects of each step. There are atomizers which feature distillate that were distilled using pot and column stills, malted and unmalted barley, a small reservoir which has whisky aged in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, and even a lineup of flasks which show how whisky changes color and lessens in volume as it evaporates over the maturation period. Finally, guests can compare and contrast Jameson whisky side by side with a peaty scotch and a sweet American bourbon.
After the tour, guests can enjoy a variety of cocktails while experiencing an array of activities available in the pop-up. These include live barrel paintings, foosball, Giant Jenga, and many more. There are also bottles sold which can be engraved on-site as well as Jameson-branded merchandise from Skoop.
Tickets are available at https://bit.ly//jdotmanila for 100 to 300 pesos. The tour starts every Wednesday to Sunday as early as 2 pm.
