Filipino theater just got a whole lot louder and more fabulous. Delia D.: A Musical Featuring the Songs of Jonathan Manalo roars onto the Newport World Resorts stage with a tale of family, friendship, and fame. Equal parts dazzling and daring, the show has quickly become the talk of the town, and for good reason.
From screen to stage, Jonathan Manalo’s hits are making the leap to live theater in Delia D. The Musical. Expect powerhouse performances of Morisette’s “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,” Angeline Quinto’s “Patuloy Ang Pangarap,” BINI’s “Blooming,” and Vice Ganda’s “Boom Panes,” all reinvented with high drama, fierce vocals, and dazzling production numbers.
Drag takes center stage in Delia D., with a drag queen leading the charge as the titular character. Alongside her is a dazzling ensemble of performers, the D’ Divalettes played by Bomba Ding, Chesko Rodriguez, Almond Bolante, Franco Ramos, Sebastian Katigbak, and Aira Jay Igarta. Guiding them all is their drag mother Mama Eme. The musical is a heartfelt tribute to the power, artistry, and chosen family found within the drag community.
Delia D. is a visual treat, packed with bold colors, dazzling lights, and dynamic stage moments. The Drag & Tell bar scenes glow with bright neon lights as a background to every drag number. On the other hand, Idols of the Galaxy bursts to life with LED screens, vote graphics, and big, synchronized choreography that makes the stage feel like a finals night of a televised singing competition. It is a nonstop visual experience that keeps the energy high and the eyes entertained.
