Kultura celebrated its 20th anniversary, reflecting on two decades of evolution, honoring the craftsmanship and stories of artisans from across the Philippines. The occasion also served as a moment of gratitude towards those who contributed to the brand’s journey.
In her anniversary speech, Ivy Yap, president of Kultura, shared that their brand’s story is one of meticulous care, growth, and continuous evolution.
“Looking back, we see our business much like a farmer carefully selecting the best seeds and cultivating a thriving field,” Yap said. She added that those early years involved searching, identifying, and collaborating with talented craftsmen from across the country.
“We have honored their skills and stories, ensuring that each product we offer is a testament to the artistry and passion that defines our culture,” Yap emphasized.
Born from a simple desire to celebrate Philippine handicrafts, Kultura began as a small space within the walls of Shoemart. “We drew inspiration from our rich heritage and vibrant traditions, approaching our work with a passion for deepening our understanding of our cultural identity. Working hand in hand with our valued artisans, we began to shape our future,” she stated.
As Kultura expanded, so did their aspirations and dreams. Yap noted that they broadened their product lines, embraced contemporary designs while staying true to their roots, and established standalone stores, each one a beacon of Filipino pride. “This was a time of experimentation, finding our voice, and establishing our place in the world.”
“Now, as we mark our 20th year, we have reached maturity. We have proven ourselves as a trusted and respected brand, known for our commitment to quality, authenticity, and innovation,” she said. “Kultura is no longer just a brand; it has become a symbol of national identity, a celebration of our rich tapestry of traditions, and a part of the modern Filipino lifestyle.”
She mentioned that celebrating Kultura’s success is not just about recognizing achievements, but also a moment to express gratitude to God for the strength, wisdom, and blessings that guided them to this point.
“Our hard work has been rewarded in ways we could have only dreamed of. On this momentous occasion, we say, ‘Maraming salamat po!’ to every person, group, community, and organization who has been instrumental in our growth,” Yap remarked.
As they reflect on the past two decades, Yap emphasized the importance of looking forward to the future with hope and excitement. “We are committed to continuing our mission of preserving and promoting Philippine culture, and will strive to reach even greater heights in the years to come,” she said.

The milestone also marked the return of award-winning actress and entrepreneur, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, as Kultura’s brand ambassador.
After the grand reveal, Marian toured the refreshed Mall of Asia flagship store, meeting the faces behind some of the most beloved products, such as South Sea pearls, hand-embroidered barongs from Taal, quilts and native bags from Bicol, and totes upcycled from juice packs by the Payatas communities.
As brand ambassador, Marian will introduce the newest collections of South Sea, freshwater, and baroque pearls throughout the year. This season’s jewelry lines experiment with playful shapes, textures, fun colors, and sizes for trendy takes on the classic gem — find square and coin pearl statement pieces; colorful, stackable bangles; dangling earrings; dramatic opera-length necklaces; and much more.
