THE health workers from The Medical City (TMC) in Pasig City found accommodations near work as La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) launched its Safe Shelter Project, offering temporary shelter to frontliners amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This collaboration aims to shelter at least 100 workers, ensuring their safety and health at all times.
Located in Mandaluyong City, LSGH has converted its classrooms into sleeping areas with access to clean bathrooms and internet connections that allows the health workers to keep in touch with their families.
Through the assistance of the De La Salle Philippines and several alumni associations, LSGH likewise provide meals for frontliners during their stay.
The TMC supplies equipment and materials to disinfect their personnel upon entry to the campus. They also periodically disinfect these areas.
At the onset of the pandemic, La Salle Philippines initially focused its efforts in assisting the DLSU Medical Center in Damariñas, Cavite. La Salle Philippines has since then opened its campus doors at the De La Salle University and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde as a safe haven for the homeless during the lockdown.
“We wish to thank our initial donors for their generosity and similarly continue to request for donations in cash and in kind to help us sustain our safe shelter,” LSGH said in their statement.
