Millions of people rely on janitors, maintenance workers, and sanitation professionals to ensure that their environments are safe, clean, and healthy. These workers are on the frontlines, preventing the spread of illness by controlling germs and bacteria in places like offices, schools, hospitals, and public spaces. However, the critical role they play often goes unnoticed, even though their work directly impacts the health and well-being of communities.

To address the needs of these unsung heroes, the Cleaning Industry Association of the Philippines, Inc.  was formed by leading cleaning and hygiene providers Hospeco Philippines, Inc., LSERV Corporation, Romac Services & Trading Company, Inc., Happy Helpers Manila, Omniworx, Inc., Xceptional International Services and Safety Corporation (Xisco), Polystar General Services, Inc., Pioneer Green Enviro Products & Services, Inc (Pioneer Eclipse), Quicklean Philippines, Job Clean Incorporated, KlencoPhil International Inc.

The new group’s primary goal is improving the working conditions and skills of sanitation professionals as well as and improve industry standards, among other objectives.

One of the association’s main goals is to provide training and certification programs that will help sanitation workers improve their skills. This will not only ensure they are up-to-date with the latest cleaning techniques but will also raise the overall standard of cleanliness across various industries. By learning new methods and best practices, workers will be able to maintain safer, healthier environments for everyone.

In addition to training, the association aims to advocate for better policies for the cleaning and sanitation sector. By working together, members hope to create an environment where sanitation professionals are recognized for their contributions and receive the support they need to succeed.

Another key part of the association’s mission is to promote sustainability within the industry. The group encourages the adoption of eco-friendly cleaning technologies and practices. This includes using environmentally safe products and reducing waste, which helps create a cleaner, greener future for the Philippines.

“Without the help of our local janitors, maintenance workers, and sanitation staff, it would be difficult to deal with the invisible threats we face daily,” said a representative from the group. “We want to take care of the people who have been taking care of us for years.”

As the association grows, it is expected to make a significant impact on improving industry standards, advocating for workers’ rights, and promoting a cleaner, healthier future for all. By supporting the people who keep our spaces safe and clean, the group is making an important investment in the future of public health and sustainability.
