The Filipinos’ love for Korean pop culture is undeniable, with many Korean brands finding widespread acceptance in the country. One of the food trends that has gained popularity since it was first seen in Korean dramas is the egg sandwich which was elevated by Eggdrop.
While the Korean-style egg sandwich has seen numerous variations since gaining popularity in the Philippines, there is nothing like enjoying the one brand that made it so popular in the first place.
Eggdrop first made waves in Korea in 2017, revolutionizing the country’s food scene with its gourmet egg sandwiches. The brand has since grown to 290 locations in South Korea alone, becoming a household name thanks to its innovative menu, visually stunning sandwiches and collaborations with some of Korea’s top chefs.

Eggdrop’s exposure through K-Dramas, K-Pop culture, and mukbang channels has only increased its global appeal, solidifying its place as a must-try culinary destination.
Eggdrop’s first store in the Philippines will open its doors at the Mall of Asia on December 19, offering Filipinos a taste of the iconic brand and a chance to enjoy its premium sandwiches.
“We are thrilled to introduce Eggdrop’s original and authentic gourmet egg sandwiches to the Philippines,” says Young-woo Noh, CEO of Eggdrop Korea. “The Philippine market, with Its deep appreciation for high-quality food and the growing influence of Korean culture, is the perfect place for us to continue our global expansion.”
Eggdrop Philippines franchiser Butter and Salt Group Inc. president Stewart Ong said that they worked closely with their South Korean counterpart to ensure that the quality of the food and beverages offered are maintained.
“We were discussing ingredients and menu options with our South Korean partners as early as the second quarter of the year. The brioche bread is made locally but the recipe is from them. The same can be said for the drinks. We were sending coffee samples regularly to make sure that the coffee drinks pass their standards,” he said.
Ong shared that the eggs used in Eggdrop’s signature sandwiches are all sourced from organic and cage-free hens for unmatched flavor and presentation.
Eggdrop’s menu, which includes classics like Mr. Egg, Bacon Double Cheese, and Garlic Bacon Cheese, reflects the heart of Eggdrop’s philosophy– simple yet flavorful, high-quality sandwiches that satisfy every craving.
Mr. Egg is a delightfully simple yet satisfying sandwich featuring fluffy scrambled eggs, cheese, and Eggdrop’s signature sauce for a creamy, savory finish. The Bacon Double Cheese is a savory indulgence with crispy bacon, melted cheese, scrambled eggs, and a touch of Eggdrop’s signature sauce.
