IFEX Philippines 2025 officially opened May 22 at the World Trade Center in Pasay, bringing together industry leaders, government officials, the diplomatic community, and international buyers for the country’s premier food and beverage trade exposition.

The three-day event launched with opening remarks from Leah Ocampo, Executive Director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM),who positioned IFEX as both a business platform and cultural exchange opportunity. Ocampo highlighted the expo’s role in connecting Filipino producers – ranging from cottage industries to large manufacturers – with international markets seeking authentic Filipino products.

Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque delivered the keynote address, emphasizing government support for Filipino entrepreneurs, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises. Roque mentioned current trade policies and initiatives focused on innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation for exporters. She also stressed the importance of continued improvements in packaging and quality standards, positioning IFEX as a strategic platform to establish the Philippines as a competitve global food hub

The formal program concluded with remarks from Sergio Ortiz-Luis, President of the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PhilExport), who encouraged participants to leverage IFEX 2025 for new partnerships and network expansion.

The expo, the biggest since the pandemic, features over 700 exhibitors showcasing Filipino food and beverage products, from traditional specialties to modern innovations.
