Balai Palmera Restaurant and Pasalubong Center has opened a new branch in Silang, Cavite that serves freshly baked treats such as the delightful, supremely well-balanced buko pie that exudes loads of Batangas-sourced coconut and a pie crust that is crunchy, flaky, rich, and buttery.

Restaurateur Ryan Jay Dimapilis, Balai Palmera president and chief executive officer, did research before starting his food business, exploring all the local stores that offer buko pie and sampling their products.

“For our buko pie, I made a recipe that ensures a balanced flavor: not too sweet, not too bland,” Dimapilies said. “We are coco-meatier, coco-creamier, and coco-yummier” than many others of its kind. The recommended serving is as many as one wants.

The coconuts are sourced from Batangas province for their distinctive “sweetness”, he added. Apart from the flagship product, the new pasalubong center also houses other goodies “which have been thoroughly studied before we launched them,” he said.

Dimapilis described a perfect buko pie. For him, it has everything one wants: flaky, crunchy edges, moist inside, and well-adjusted coconut meat and cream.

“That when one takes a bite, everything blends well — not cloyingly delicious.” The best of both worlds. And tasting like perfect summer.

The management may have plans to expand the business as the system and structure are already in place, “but we are still improving some things so that our brand will be marketed by our partner restaurants and outlets,” he added.

There are plans to put up kiosks within Metro Tagaytay to cater to guests and travelers who would want get to taste Balai Palmera’s offerings.

This season, the center will also be creating a pasalubong kit containing its best baked products ideal for gift giving. The promotion will be called “Balai Paskuhan.”

As for the dishes that are offered in its restaurant, “it was a collective effort from our team on what recipes to include in the list of choices.” There are local ones like the Silang Express that can be shared by families who troop to the dining place. Balai Palmera’s buko pie is a tropical treat to end a meal.

Balai Palmera ensures that every visit is unique and truly satisfying as it continues to develop its menu by offering a wide selection of favorites and new products, including continuous improvement in its service.

“With Cavitenos’ innate hospitality and great talent in preparing local dishes and delicacies, we are proud to have local talents in our restaurants who we get to share with everyone,” he said.

Biblically, “there is food and celebration,” when one sees palms, and it also signifies strength, victory, and a sign of welcome, Dimapilis explained.

Balai Palmera Restaurant and Pasalubong Center now has two branches. The first one is at Tagaytay-Sta. Road Brgy. Pasong Langka, Silang, Cavite, and the second branch at Aguinaldo Highway, Bypass Road, San Vicente 2, Silang, Cavite.
