For many Filipinos, merienda is not just a time to snack. It is also a time to take a break from a busy day to recharge and reinvigorate. This is seen in many of the dishes that have become favorites of many Filipinos. From empanadas, to noodle dishes such as pancit guisado and pancit palabok, each bite is a hearty reminder to slow down and enjoy these moments in life.

Gourmet Tuyo Pasta

Lanson Place Mall of Asia Manila takes this to heart with the reintroduction of Bytes. Formerly Madeleine, a pastry and tea shop located at the ground floor near the Seaside Blvd entrance of the hotel, the food outlet was transformed into a Filipino snacking haven.

Matcha Mango Mousse Cake, and Tibok tibok Brûlée

Open daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, Bytes offers guests a welcoming atmosphere that blends comfort and modern flair, making it an ideal destination for a midday snack, casual catch-up, or early evening indulgence. With its thoughtfully curated menu of Filipino-inspired light fares, Bytes celebrates the essence of everyday indulgence. Some dishes pair perfectly with sweet beverages, while others are elevated with select drinks as the day transitions into night.

Pancit Palabok

The Beef Empanada’s simple exterior belies an explosion of flavor in every bite. Unlike the normal empanada that is usually made with ground beef, here, chunks of braised beef are mixed with cheese for a decadent afternoon snack.

For those who enjoy Pancit Palabok, Byte’s take is familiar and comforting. Each noodle strand fully absorbs the rich tinapa-forward sauce while the addition of deep-fried noodle bits add texture to each forkful. large cubes of perfectly-cooked squid and succulent shrimps round out the entire plate.

The Gourmet Tuyo Pasta is the order of choice for those who want a paste dish but retain the Filipino flavors. Here, sun-dried tomatoes counterbalance the saltiness of the olive oil-packed dried fish while the gentle heat of chilis serves as the backdrop for the symphony of flavors.

End the meal with either the Tibok tibok Brulee or the Matcha Mango Mousse Cake which features Filipino flavors reimagined into upscale sweet treats.

To mark this exciting relaunch, Lanson Place introduces Pares | Cork & Comfort Dinner Pairing at Bytes, a curated dining experience where guests will be guided through engaging tasting notes and pairing insights, showcasing how approachable wines can enhance Filipino comfort food. Priced a P2,800 nett per person and available every third Wednesday of the month.

“Bytes is where Filipino light fares meet everyday indulgence — offering affordable local dishes in a relaxed and trendy space, now elevated with wine pairings that bring food and drink together in harmony,” said Rochelle Tabino, Marketing and Communications Manager, Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila.
