For many Filipinos, painting lessons when they were kids are a fond memory. However, there is nothing stopping them from taking up the brush again and painting their favorite scenes. Sunshine Place in Jupiter Avenue, Makati is opening its doors to new painters as it offers Watercolor Workshop for Beginners.
The course is aimed at introducing watercolor as a fine art medium and aimed at students 7 years old and above. Throughout the 6-session workshop, activities will focus on the familiarization with watercolor and its essentials, along with using the right materials to produce the best output. This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce its students to the fun art of watercolor painting and help discover their untapped creativity through hands-on learning.
The workshop will run over 6 Saturdays starting January 11 from 3-5pm. The full course rate is P8,960 per person with a senior rate of P6,400. There will also be a starter kit available for P2,800 which includes a watercolor set, brushes, drawing pencil, kneadable eraser, palette and watercolor paper
The workshop will be led by Jen Consumido, a veteran self-taught artist who has exhibited works across a variety of media. He is presently focusing on watercolor paintings. Through the years, he strived to learn and hone his visual skills by continuously exploring and practicing different techniques, believing that the art is a continuous learning process, as in any other field of practice.
Sir Jen shares whatever knowledge and skills he has acquired through workshops and tutorials. He also takes part in promoting watercolor as a fine art medium.
