Montegrande’s Lines of Legacy

Fundacion Sanso, in cooperation with Kenneth Montegrande and Galerie Joaquin, is honored to present Lines of Legacy: Kenneth Montegrande in Tribute to Sanso, the first guest artist exhibition at Fundacion Sansó since the passing of its founder, Juvenal Sansó, on March 28, 2025.

In this heartfelt homage running until September 10 at Fundacion Sanso located at 32 V. Cruz, Brgy. Sta Lucia, San Juan City, Kenneth Montegrande mirrors two of Sansó’s most beloved themes—flowers and seascapes— with his own distinct vision. This exhibition is not only an artistic tribute but also an act of generosity: proceeds from Lines of Legacy: Kenneth Montegrande in Tribute to Sanso will benefit Fundacion Sansó’s Fine Arts Students Scholarships and Grants Program.

This is not the first time Montegrande has extended his artistry to support our mission. In 2021, during the height of the lockdown, he created a similar benefit exhibition. For 2025, he returns—continuing a shared legacy between two artists who both use their craft to champion causes beyond the canvas.

Lines of Legacy: Kenneth Montegrande in Homage to Sanso is more than an exhibition—it is a bridge between generations, a celebration of art’s power to sustain, and a testament to how creativity can nurture the future.

Featured in the exhibit is a special interaction piece between Juvenal Sanso and Kenneth Montegrande titled “No Greater Love” which is up for auction.  “A sunflower has to die for its seed to ripen & become new sunflowers,” Montegrande reflected on this piece. Originally a signed black-and-white composition by Sanso, Montegrande added subtle color to heighten the mood & emphasize the wilting sunflowers — a poetic gesture to the artist’s passing.

Yet for Montegrande, this passing is not only an end, but also a beginning: like seeds that emerge from a fading bloom, Sanso’s legacy continues to nurture younger artists through the advocacies he championed & the support he gave. In this way, Montegrande suggests that Sanso’s departure has sown the ground for both flourishing and a deeper reading of his art. The artwork will be up for auction until September 9 with the winning bidder announced the following day. Interested buyers can contact Camille Abello-Calimon, 0917-5822115 to place a bid until Sept. 9.
