DESPITE her busy schedule as the reigning Miss Universe Philippines, Gazini Ganados has always gone back to her anchor, her advocacy of elderly care.
Last Friday, as part of Araneta Center’s Grandparents Day celebration entitled “Grand Hangout”, Gazini spent time with 11 chosen elderly artists from Filipino Portrait Artists Guild, led by its president Romy Carlos, and Portrait Artists Society of the Philippines to do portraits of her.
These artworks will be for sale with half of the proceeds going to Gazini’s chosen charity, Luwalhati ng Maynila Home for the Aged.
The other half will go to the 10 artists who did the portraits of Gazini.
Grandparents Day, after all, is the celebration of the elderly; that even they can still pursue their passions. (JOSE D. PATAO, JR., Photos courtesy of The Araneta Center)
