A home for artists at Erehwon

Want a place to hang out, which is affordable, and where you can enjoy the company of different types of artists? Go to The Roofdeck, the latest entertainment place of Erehwon Center for the Arts.

As you reach the top of a flight of stairs, you will see two sculptures welcoming you. The first is a relaxed Nick Joaquin, lounging with a bottle of beer. The next is the sculpture of a proud Behn Cervantes leading you into The Roofdeck, an outdoor space at the Erehwon Center for the Arts. Especially made for artists who are members of the Erehwon Art Council, the place is a cool area to enjoy a few drinks, mingle over your choice of snacks, and continue to be technologically connected through free wifi access. The long chef’s table can also serve as a meeting area, long and wide enough to provide social distancing.

Members of the Erehwon Art Council (EAC), which is made up of organizations of dancers, musicians, theater performers, singers, and visual artists, enjoy special privileges at Behn Cervantes The Roofdeck (the place’s full name). The Friday of each month is reserved exclusively for EAC members, when they can enjoy their first bottle of beer free, sing themselves out with the videoke, or choose their own performances. The Roofdeck may be rented out by other groups for their own activities during the rest of the weekdays, Monday to Thursday.
