To commemorate this milestone, San Miguel Pale Pilsen releases a limited-edition can that celebrates SMB’s tradition of brewing excellence and how its brews have permeated into the very fabric of Filipino culture.

The limited-edition “Balik Tanaw” can conjures sceneries from days of old through the creative vision of renowned Filipino visual artist Francis Nacion. The limited-edition design depicts a celebratory scene. Here, 7 figures garbed in traditional Filipiniana enjoy a moment of fun as San Miguel Pale Pilsen bottles are hoisted.

The collectible piece captures how San Miguel has become part of the Filipino way of life, re-imagining traditional milieu with San Miguel Pale Pilsen present and enriching social settings & personal milestones.

Famous for his stylized forms and distinct half-rendered visage which show both dark and bright sides, Nacion is recognized as one of the most celebrated local contemporary artists today. Since 2009, Nacion has mounted multiple solo exhibits, both here and abroad, showcasing works that illustrate his love and pride for his country and its culture.

Nacion’s signature style – half moon faces with the other side left completely blank of features, and 4-fingered hands is on full display in the new limited-edition can. Nacion said that these are intentional by design, highlighting man’s beauty despite our imperfections.

This affinity with depicting local imagery inspired by traditional values and cultural significance made Nacion’s creation of San Miguel Pale Pilsen limited-edition “Balik Tanaw” can intuitive and intentional.
