JAC Philippines introduces a new era of urban mobility with the all-new Ytterby, its first fully electric vehicle. Scheduled to arrive at dealerships on September 27, 2024, the Ytterby promises to set new standards for safety, efficiency, intelligent driving, and value in the city.
This 5-seater hatchback comes in two variants: Air 405 and PRO 505. Both boast advanced electric vehicle features typically found in premium models. The Air 405 offers a 405 km range, while the PRO 505 extends up to 505 km (based on CLTC). Equipped with motors delivering 94hp or 134hp and torque of 135 Nm or 175 Nm respectively, paired with 41 kWh (Air 405) or 51.5 kWh (PRO 505) batteries, the Ytterby minimizes charging needs in city driving.
Efficiency and intelligent driving are key highlights of the Ytterby. Its innovative 9-in-1 electric drive system integrates various components, resulting in a 40 percent weight reduction and a significant 94 percent improvement in efficiency. This translates to an impressive 10kWh energy consumption per 100km, underscoring JAC’s commitment to sustainability. Additionally, the compact design of the 9-in-1 powertrain allows for an interior and trunk space comparable to larger electric or gasoline vehicles.
The Ytterby’s design philosophy, “Bubble Aesthetics,” translates to a visually striking exterior with soft, rounded contours. This is complemented by a spacious and comfortable interior bathed in natural light from a large, 1.45m panoramic skylight made with laminated Low-E glass for improved temperature and energy management. Tri-color petal wheels add a touch of flair, while concealed electric door handles and electrically folding exterior mirrors enhance the sleek profile.
Safety remains a priority for JAC. The Ytterby boasts a five-star crash safety rating, a zero thermal runaway honeycomb battery, six airbags, and seatbelt-off warnings. It also features a 3-in-1 intelligent braking system and a tight turning radius (4.95m) for a confident and agile driving experience. The PRO 505 variant takes safety a step further with Level 2 Assisted Driving features.
Fast charging the Ytterby from 30 percent to 80 percent capacity takes only 30 minutes using a DC charger. Home charging with the supplied 7kW charger takes between 7.5 to 9 hours, depending on the variant.
JAC Philippines emphasizes the Ytterby’s exceptional value compared to other compact electric and gasoline vehicles in its segment. Tonette Lee, Brand Head, highlights the long-term savings on fuel and maintenance costs. “The all-new Ytterby is a statement of what’s possible when innovation meets responsibility,” Lee states. “It combines an intelligent cabin, a powerful 9-in-1 powertrain, and class-leading safety features, all at a competitive price.”
The all-new Ytterby comes in two variants: Air 405 at P1.195M and PRO 505 priced at P1.320M. Available exterior colors include Beige, Purple, Blue, White, and Gray.
