TECH manufacturer MediaTek unveiled a range of new products and technology demonstrations, with a particular emphasis on advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), smart TVs, Chromebooks, and the Internet of Things (IoT) at the COMPUTEX 2004 in Taiwan today.
Central to MediaTek’s showcase are two new chipsets poised to redefine user experiences: the Kompanio 838 SoC, designed for premium Chromebooks, and the Pentonic 800 SoC, tailored for 4K premium smart TVs and displays.
MediaTek President and COO, Joe Chen, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s expanding leadership in critical technology segments. “At this year’s COMPUTEX, we are highlighting our expanding leadership in exciting product categories, such as AI, automotive, IoT, TVs, Chromebooks, and wireless connectivity, among many others,” Chen stated. “Through upgrading user experiences in our latest chipsets, this is a wonderful opportunity to show our growth in these critical segments of technology.”
The Kompanio 838 SoC aims to amplify productivity, learning, and creativity by packing outstanding performance and multitasking capabilities into an energy-efficient design, ensuring all-day battery life for thin and light Chromebooks. It also incorporates a dedicated AI processor, the MediaTek NPU 650, to enable more interactive and higher quality multimedia experiences.
Meanwhile, the Pentonic 800 SoC is engineered to deliver best-in-class video, audio, and cloud gaming experiences, making it ideal for a variety of 4K displays. Its powerful AI processor supports a range of MediaTek AI-powered display technologies designed to significantly enhance image quality and overall viewing experiences.
Adding to the excitement surrounding MediaTek’s participation, the company’s Vice Chairman and CEO, Dr. Rick Tsai, will deliver a keynote address on June 4th. His presentation will delve into how AI is set to continue transforming various sectors, including mobility, transportation, smart homes, enterprises, and industrial environments.
