EPSON Philippines Corporation, a global technology leader, has demonstrated its dedication to sustainability through its Corporate Waste Collection Program. This initiative, launched in October 2023 in partnership with Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc., has successfully diverted 213 kilograms of recyclable materials from landfills as of June 2024.
The program, initially focused in Davao City, engages select corporate printer dealers to collect empty ink cartridges, bottles, and boxes. Envirotech then transforms these materials into valuable products such as school furniture, tiles, pallets, and even decorative items like pots, planters, and lamps.
Within six months, the program has more than doubled its initial collection of 106 kilograms, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of Epson’s partner dealers. This achievement reflects a shared vision of sustainable operations among Epson and its stakeholders.
Epson Philippines President and Director Masako Kusama emphasized the company’s commitment, stating, “At Epson, we are committed to promoting sustainability across the value chain and implementing a circular economy where possible. This program demonstrates what can be done to reduce waste and our overall environmental footprint.”
Building on this success, Epson plans to expand the program to Manila and Cebu later this year, engaging more dealers and B2B channel partners in this collective effort towards a more sustainable future. Kusama added, “We are excited to see this program further expand, so that we can have a greater positive social impact on more communities in the Philippines.”
Epson’s Corporate Waste Collection Program not only diverts waste from landfills but also showcases the potential of transforming discarded materials into valuable resources. By partnering with local recyclers and engaging its dealer network, Epson is leading the way in promoting a circular economy and inspiring others to adopt sustainable practices.
