THE mobile phone is now a default device for many millennials for gaming. This puts great demands on the smartphone in terms of screen resolution, battery life and charging and speed of processor. Technology giant OPPO realizes this particularly large segment of the market and introduced the OPPO A96–a smartphone it describes are “designed to be powerful.”
In a simple get together with the media, OPPO’s Chiqui Tapawan, Head of Marketing Communications of OPPO Philippines said the company realized both the niche in the market that requires a powerful phone for gaming and the needs of this market which includes a specific price range balanced with the needed features to take mobile gaming even more portable.
“Mobile gamers always want the best possible experience whenever they play. As we launch the Designed to be Powerful OPPO A96, we deliver Filipinos with a value-for-money device that exhibits powerful performance for their gaming and even productivity. We are looking forward to further innovating our A-Series line to meet the needs of mobile gamers,” Tapawan said.
“Designed to be Powerful,” the OPPO A96 redefines the technology for mobile gamers, the powerful device is equipped with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 5000 mAh battery, and 33W SUPERVOOCT flash charging technology. It also features Glow Design, and uses a 6.59-inch 90Hz Color-Rich Punch-Hole Display; 1080×2412 (FHD+), supported by a propietary adaptive refresh rate technology to enable the best viewing experience.
“Designed to be powerful is not just a tagline, it is a lifestyle you can carry with you,” Tapawan shared.
This latest OPPO smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G Mobile Platform rigged to an 8GB + 256GB memory and storage with a RAM Expansion feature that enables up to 5GB of extended RAM, delivering more powerful performance and experience even when users are multitasking. It also allows a micro SD card expansion of up to 1TB.
Since it is for gamers, it has dual speakers for immersive audio. Enabled by a high-fidelity Dirac HD audio technology, it gives louder and clearer stereo sound. It also has dual microphones that work cooperatively to decrease noise in the background for clearer calls.
The battery is one of the strongest points of this new phone–with a 5000mAh battery capacity that leverages a 33W SUPERVOOC flash charging technology to provide users the power and flexibility they need for their daily grind. For instance, its 5 minutes of charging can enable 3 hours and 38 minutes of phone calls or 1 hour and 34 minutes of watching YouTube videos. It includes Super Power Saving Mode to increase low-battery efficiency and Optimized Night Charging, which uses AI to learn the bedtime patterns of its user to schedule a segmented battery charging at night.
It runs on Android 12 overlayed with OPPO’s own ColorOS 11.1 linked to firmware like System Booster and Link Boost 2.0, to provide superior system performance and smoother connection and Bullet Screen Message to reduce interference delivered by calls or notifications as users play. It also has Anti-peeping for Notifications to secure user information and Air Gestures to manage the device through hand gestures.
As it features a 6.59-inch Color-Rich Punch-Hole Display with a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, with a 90Hz refresh rate because of OPPO’s Adaptive Refresh Rate Technology. The 1080×2412 FHD resolution, with All-day AI Eye Comfort that improves screen visibility if users are in well-lighted or dark environments for an immersive viewing experience.
Available in two spectacular colors, such as Starry Black and Pearl Pink, the new smartphone is integrated with the OPPO Glow Design to deliver a striking and smooth device that is scratch, fingerprint, and dirt proof. Complementing the launch of the A96, OPPO also announced the OPPO Game On Cup 2022: A96 Mobile Legends Tournament, wherein 128 teams from the OPPO Game On Community will compete in Mobile Legends for a chance to be hailed as the champion. Registration is from May 4 to 18.
