BITSKWELA, a Philippine education platform, will host a debate titled “Brushes and Pixels: A Debate on NFTs and Fine Arts” on June 16, 2023, at Imahica Art Gallery in Mandaluyong City. This event is part of the Bull or Bear: Philippine Web3 Debate 2023 Cebu edition, which will take place on July 15 at Ayala Malls Central Bloc in Cebu City.
The debate will feature notable Filipino creatives and entrepreneurs, including Brian Poe Llamanzares, co-founder of Artifract.io, a platform that fractionalizes Fine Arts as NFTs. Artifract.io has collaborated with prominent artists and partnered with musician Ely Buendia to bring art and music to blockchain enthusiasts.
Ian Fulgar, founder of Imahica Art Gallery, and Marso Ya, a rising Filipino illustrator from Crypto Art PH and LevelArtGuild, will provide unique perspectives on digital art. Chris Tan, a serial entrepreneur, content creator, and cryptocurrency investor, as well as Jeffrey Bondoc, founder of the Filipino Bored Ape and Mutant Ape holders group, will also share insights on crypto and blockchain arts.
Bitskwela’s CMO, JC Macalintal, expressed excitement for the conversation between traditional art and NFTs, emphasizing the shared love for collecting. Jiro Reyes, CEO of Bitskwela, aims to foster a dialogue on the future of art through NFTs and traditional art, with leaders from both industries sharing their thoughts.
The debate will be hosted and moderated by Edrei Tan and is co-presented by GCash and Blockceler8.
The Bull or Bear Cebu edition is supported by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Go Digital Pilipinas, Ayala Malls, Philippine Airlines, Likha NFT platform, and Likhaan.
