THE National Electronic Sports Federation of the Philippines has partnered with Singapore-based Cyberathlete to organize the Philippine qualifiers of the Cyberathlete Collegiate Mobile Legends Tournament Series on July 30-Aug. 1.
Offering a total pot of $225,000, the world competition will be the highlight of the silver anniversary in 2022 of one of the world’s leading and oldest e-sports (video games) tournament organizers founded by American Angel Daniel Munoz in Dallas, Texas in 1997.
Foreign investors acquired the company in 2010, with Singapore now serving as the company’s headquarters.
“This tournament is one of esport’s highlights for both the world and the Philippines,” said NESFP President Ramon “Tats” Suzara, who thanked Cyberathlete for engaging the federation in organizing the local qualifiers of the prestigious tournament.
Present during the online press launch of the event were NESFP secretary general Alvin Juban, NESFP board member Donald Caringal, Cyberathlete vice president for public relations Chrysta Yeo, Jun Lasco, software architect of Pinoy gaming platform Kalaro, and his associate Marvin Alberto.
