Riot Games Philippines has initiated the registration process for the open qualifiers of Liga Republika, a newly established national League of Legends tournament. Open to all interested players in the Philippines, the qualifiers are a key component of Riot Games’ plan to elevate the local competitive scene and prepare Filipino players for international competition.

Liga Republika is positioned as a cornerstone of the new LoL Esports Ecosystem, set to debut in 2025. The tournament’s structure includes four open qualifier rounds, followed by a group stage, playoffs, and culminating in an offline LAN event in September. The top four finalists will compete for a million-peso prize pool.

Joel Guzman, Country Manager of Riot Games Philippines, emphasized the importance of Liga Republika in reinvigorating the local League of Legends community and fostering a new generation of talent. He also highlighted the tournament’s role in cultivating the competitive readiness of Filipino players in alignment with the global LoL Esports update, which introduces a new merit-based pathway to the top.

The open qualifiers are expected to attract a significant number of teams, with 512 slots available across four rounds. Teams can register for multiple rounds to increase their chances of advancing to the group stage.

“From our initial roadmap announcement, we’ve seen the enthusiasm and vibrance of the League of Legends community in the Philippines. This also shows that the Filipino gaming community has welcomed, embraced, and acknowledged Liga Republika as the official national League of Legends tournament. This positive reception from the gaming community has made all of us at Riot Games Philippines even more confident that Liga Republika is well on its way to becoming the breeding ground for the next generation of Pinoy League of Legends talents. We are optimistic that, together with our players, we can usher in a new era of League of Legends in the Philippines through Liga Republika,” said Kimi Salazar, Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) Brand Manager of Riot Games Philippines.

Interested players can now register for the open qualifiers and stay updated on the tournament through League of Legends’ official social media channels. Detailed tournament rules and registration links are available on the official Liga Republika website.
