IT’S all systems go for the Collegiate Center for Esports Mobile Legends 5-on-5 Varsity Cup (MVC), with 10 schools bidding to bag a historic crown in the tourney set from Nov. 10-21.
“We are proud to be able to host an event that will serve as the main course and introduction of CCE as the newest Esports collegiate league,” CCE president Edwin Chiong said yesterday in an online press conference via Zoom.
“Exposed online, a new platform that will hone individual and team-based skills in a competitive environment,” he added.
The league streams on CALM Network with Alaxan FR, Bio-Agrownica, Rebel Sports Pilipinas, Tagaytay Pura Vida Resort and Hotel, and SMDC Malls as sponsors.
Arellano University will be banned by the likes of Kai Oliva, Lars Sunga, Diego Ilao, Marlon Espiritu, and Jifford Cahigas, while College of St. Benilde will be led Carlo Lim, Baron Gabuyan, Ryan Daculan, Reiven Valera, and Georgie Gauani, Leonard Jaboli.
Emilio Aguinaldo College will have Kyle Carlos, Jomar Amador, Ralph Vincent Robin, Adrian De Guzman, and Christian Angelo Cabuhat.
JL Delos Santos, Jan Marc Abaoag, Hosea Mananquil, Dustin Aguado, and Donvic Aguado will spearhead the campaign of Jose Rizal University.
Letran will bank on Fran Yu, Jeo Ambohot, Allen Mina, King Caralipio, Shan Bautista, and Jap Pambid, while Lyceum will rely on Lorenzo Navarro, Alvin Baetiong, Carlo Abadeza, Yancy Remulla, and Shawn Umali.
Mapua will be led by Warren Bonifacio, Joaqui Garcia, Jasper Salenga, Adrian Nocum, Jomer Mercado, and Angelo Parinas.
Jasper Cuevas, Kyle Cuevas, Lean Martel, Shawn Orgo, and Rey Joey Barcuma will carry Perpetual Help.
San Beda University will have Damie Cuntapay, Yukien Andrada, Justine Sanchez, Tony Ynot, and Gabriel Cometa and San Sebastian College Michael Are, Kenneth Villapando, JM Calma, Camillus Altamirano, Rafael Are.
Perpetual looms as favorite after Jasper Cuevas ruled the 1v1 Exhibition match but the nine other schools are out to give him a run for his money and gain momentum heading into the regular season.
