A SIGNIFICANT step towards strengthening the country’s cybersecurity infrastructure is the completion and issuance of the National Cybersecurity Plan 2023-2028 (NCSP). This comprehensive plan aims to build a resilient and secure digital ecosystem in the country through collaboration, capacity building, and strategic initiatives to combat cyber threats.
Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity leader, has applauded this move, emphasizing the importance of equipping the nation and its citizens to face the growing sophistication of cybercrime. Genie Sugene Gan, Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy for Kaspersky, expressed optimism about the NCSP’s implementation, highlighting its potential to provide a strategic framework for addressing cyber threats and ensuring the resilience of the country’s digital infrastructure.
“Moving forward, cybercrimes will undoubtedly become more sophisticated, and cybercriminals will relentlessly hunt for new victims,” said Gan. “It is imperative that the nation and its citizens are equipped to face these challenges head-on, ensuring their safety and security in the digital world.”
Kaspersky has a long-standing history of working with government agencies and law enforcement worldwide to enhance cybersecurity capabilities. The company has partnered with INTERPOL, providing training on advanced threat detection and mitigation strategies.
Additionally, Kaspersky recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the National Cyber Security Agency of Thailand to bolster the country’s cybersecurity measures.
The NCSP’s focus on collaboration and capacity building aligns with Kaspersky’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about cyber threats and empower individuals and organizations to protect themselves. The company offers a range of cybersecurity tools and educational resources, emphasizing the importance of strong passwords, regular updates, and staying informed about the latest cyber threats.
With the implementation of the NCSP and the continued support of industry leaders like Kaspersky, the Philippines is poised to make significant strides in safeguarding its digital landscape and protecting its citizens from the ever-evolving threat of cybercrime.
