ENDANGERED in the wilderness, eight Growling Tigers opted to leave after the ill-fated training bubble held by University of Santo Tomas at the hometown of former coach Aldin Ayo in Capuy, Sorsogon City from mid-June to August was pricked.
Reigning MVP Soulemane Chabi Yo likely has no plans of joining the exodus.
The 6-foot-6 Chabi Yo and his other teammates seemingly expressed their support to new Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) director Fr. Rodel Cansancio, OP, last Saturday.
“Growling Tigers until the end,” wrote Cansancio in a social media post with a photo of him with Chabi Yo, big man Dave Ando, Team B players Christian Manaytay and Jonathan Gesalem, and new addition Aldave Canoy.
Cansancio replaced Fr. Ermito de Sagon, OP, who took over on an interim capacity after Fr. Jannel Abogado, OP, stepped down amid allegations that UST and Ayo breached the government’s stringent COVID-19 health protocols, last Wednesday.
