EXPERTS in various fields of sports have been invited and will be the featured guests for the lectures and workshops during the National Sports Summit organized by the Philippine Sports Commission on Feb. 27 to 28 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
Working behind the theme “Creating a Clear Vision of Philippine Sports,” the PSC aims to lay the groundwork for the general policies and direction that local sports needs to achiee athletic excellence in the years ahead.
Around 500 participants from different government agencies, the private sector, National Sports Associations, and other stakeholders from leagues such as the UAAP, NCAA, and NCRAA, among others, are expected to attend the two-day gathering.
“This will be the second National Sports Summit of this scale since 1992 so we want it to be as inclusive as we can,” said PSC chairman Butch Ramirez, who will preside during the two-day event.
House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano will be the keynote speaker on the opening day.
Among the prominent speakers invited are Dr. T.J. Rosandich, president and chief executive officer of the United States Sports Academy, who will lecture on Sports Success from a first world perspective.
Founded by the late Thomas Rosandich in 1972, USSA has brought their studies and findings on the latest sports trends and developments and to over 60 countries so far.
