THE next generation of football heroes will showcase their wares as the Philippine Football Federation Under-15 Boys national tournament crossover semifinals kick off Wednesday at the PFF national training center in Carmona, Cavite.
Group 2 topnotcher Davao-South Rizal Football Association tackles Negros Occidental Football Association, the Group 1 runner-up, at 9 a.m. while Group 1 leader National Capital Region Football Association takes on Mount Apo Region Football Association at 2:30 p.m.
The semifinal winners will clash for the PFF Under-15 championship while the losers battle for third place on Friday also at the same venue.
“These boys in the PFF Under-15 national semifinals are the products of the grassroots program we launched since Nonong Araneta took over as president of the federation 10 years ago,” noted PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “They are our next generation of local football heroes.”
The NCR booters, who have scored a total of 74 goals entering the semis, are unbeaten in 10 matches stretching back to the preliminaries, their only blemish being a 3-3 draw against NOFA.
