MILO Phils. and the Department Education have teamed up for the “Milo Champion Habit” virtual workouts intended to prod school children to engage in physical exercise amid the pandemic.
“As children continue their academic journey with online learning, now more than ever children should be given the resources they need to maintain their physical activity so they can become better in school,” Milo sports executive Luigi Pumaren said yesterday in the Philippine Sportswriters Association online forum.
“Guided by this premise, we have launched the ‘Milo Champions Habit’ together with the Department of Education as part of our continuous commitment in getting them into sports and nurturing them to become tomorrow’s champions,” Pumaren stressed.
Joining him in the session backed by Smart, San Miguel Corp., Go for Gold, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., Amelie Hotel, Brasca Restaurant and Milo were DepEd Director Joel Eristain and volleyball star Alyssa Valdes, who is part of the new Milo instructional video.
“Healthy, strong and active learners are those who can perform at their optimal best. This concept is something that Milo Phils and the DepEd share together,” said Eristain, speaking on behalf of Undersecretary Revsee Escobedo.
“With this new partnership, we will be able to teach our school children in fighting back COVID-19 to be healthy, stay healthy,” he added of the six-minute instructional workout video now available on Milo Phils. YouTube channel featuring Valdes and former national taekwondo standout Japoy Lizardo.
