GINEBRA has achieved one target and has trained its sights on another.
Coach Tim Cone admitted this just before the Kings’ match against leader and fellow early quarterfinalist TNT tonight in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart 5G-powered AUF Sports Arena in Angeles City.
Other matches in the quadruple-header, the league’s third in four days, see San Miguel Beer and NLEX trying to sustain their recent momentum and Alaska, Blackwater, NorthPort and Terrafirma aiming to boost their flagging campaigns.
Cone is keeping close tabs on the other matches, particularly those featuring teams in the upper half of the standings that may crowd Ginebra for a coveted slot.
“Right now we’re just really looking at the top six (teams)… and our head to head (games),” said Cone. “If we can beat them then that gives us a good chance for the top four.”
