AFTER a riveting title victory in the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM, what’s next for Family’s Brand Sardines-Zamboanga City?
The team made up of Fil-Am forward Joshua Munzon, wingman Alvin Pasaol, and big men Leonard Santillan and Troy Rike is set to do battle in the 2020 FIBA 3×3 World Tour in Doha, Qatar.
The squad will be named Manila Chooks in the November 20-21 tilt as the country returns to international competitions since the deadly COVID-19 pandemic broke out last March.
Zamboanga City downed undermanned but hard-fighting Nueva Ecija 22-19 in the grand finals last Friday to bag the crown and P1 million at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
The 6-foot-4 Munzon wound up with seven points, while Pasaol also had seven. Santillan and Rike combined for eight markers as Zamboanga City capped its season winning a total of P1.35 million after ruling the preseason and three of the four legs of the country’s first pro 3×3 league.
Munzon said it was their collective effort to stick to their gameplan that proved to be the difference.
“From the start, we had a game plan and we stuck to it. Whether we won or lost, we just continued to do the same things over and over and over,” Munzon said.
