THE ball is now with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The Commission on Higher Education released yesterday the safety and health guidelines for the resumption of collegiate team practice limited to workouts and physical conditioning. Actual games are still a no-go.
But teams still need the greenlight from the IATF.
“We hope our stakeholders and administrators can seriously implement the guidelines,” CHED chairperson Prospero De Vera III said during an online press conference.
“The earlier they can comply with guidelines, that’s the determination as to when they can start,” he added.
Also joining in the presscon were officials and representatives from the Department of Health, Philippine Sports Commission, Games and Amusements Board, the UAAP, and the NCAA.
Under the guidelines, athletes aged 18 to 21 years old need to get parental consent, while those in the younger bracket will stay home and do virtual training. – Michael Jugado
