TOYOTA Motor Philippines (TMP) launched an updated Innova, surprising the market with another set of improvements to the much loved Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) icon.

The Innova has always been a staple in TMP’s local stable of vehicles. Proudly assembled the company’s manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, the MPV has a long history with the Filipinos. This heritage goes back to its great grandfather, the Tamaraw. The evolution into full MPV happened with the Tamaraw FX, which changed its name and look to the Revo and finally to the Innova, first launched in 2005, which according to Toyota has been “the preferred car of generations of Filipino families for being a dependable, spacious, and comfortable road companion.”

“The introduction of the new Innova could not have been timelier as the current situation has allowed us to appreciate moments shared with our families and loved ones,” TMP First Vice President for Marketing Sherwin Chualim said in the online launch of the upgraded Innova. “As we slowly go back to the roads to rediscover the happiness of travelling together, it is important to have a car that can keep us safe, while providing power, comfort, luxury, and style. The new Innova has all that and more.”

The Innova has always been known for being in that sweet spot when it comes to pricing. The current Innova continues that trait, with prices starting at just P1.18M for the J MT variant. But pricing is not the only reason for its popularity. Its versatility as a people and cargo transporter has fascinated the entrepreneurial Filipino, but its role as the family mover is probably its most endearing characteristic—one that created many memories for Filipino families.

“Reaching up to 240,000 proud Innova owners to date and catering to a wide range of needs and preferences of Filipino families and drivers, the Innova indeed raises the flag, and symbolizes excellence in the local manufacturing industry,” added Chualim.

Starting at just P1.18M for the J MT variant, Filipinos are assured of Toyota’s signature quality, durability, and reliability, as well as great value in every Innova unit. The updated features of the 2021 upgrade make the well-loved MPV safer, sportier, and even more capable to take on daily mobility needs, whether for practical use or for family leisure.

The new Innova is updated with a new front grille and bumper which are accented by LED headlamps and LED front fog lamps (for V grade), as well as redesigned side turn signal lamps. Daytime running lights on the V variant are now standard the rear combination lights get a black outline redesign for V and G grades. V grades get 17” alloy wheels while G and E grades get newly-designed 16” alloy wheels.

With the ever-reliable 2.8L diesel engine and available drive modes (Eco and Power), the new Innova is available in 6 diesel engine variants – V AT, G AT and MT, E DSL AT and MT, and J MT.

Then there are more convenience features.  Push Start and Smart Entry for the V variant smartphone applications with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility (for V, G, and E variants).

The new Innova will be available in all of TMP’s dealerships across the country starting February 20, 2021. Customers may also view the interior and exterior in 360 degree views, calculate payments, and submit inquiries direct to any preferred dealer via https://toyota.com.ph/innova.
