Continued partnership ensures rapid roll out of transport modernization

Hyundai Asia Resources, Incorporated (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai trucks and buses in the Philippines, fulfills another round of Modern Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) turnover activities to the City of Bacoor, Cavite.

Hyundai Trucks and Buses (HTB) Alabang turned over 15 units of HD50S Modern PUV Class 3 to the Magnificat Transport Cooperative, a group that aims to provide the commuting public with a safe, reliable, efficient, and environment-friendly transport system.

This activity is Hyundai’s second show of support for Cavite’s and the region’s drive to improve mass mobility and to accelerate economic activity in partnership with the local government, transport groups, and key government agencies Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr).  Hyundai is set to deliver the remaining first batch of HD50S Modern PUV Class 3 units to the said transport group within the year.

The event was well-attended by key officials from the local government and the LTFRB, headed by Lani Mercado-Revilla, Mayor of Bacoor, Cavite, and LTFRB Region 4 Director Col. Renwick Rutaquio, respectively.  During her welcome address, Mayor Revilla emphasized that modernizing PUVs is “truly the call of the times in the new normal” and expressed hope that more transport groups in their community will support the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

Col. Rutaquio lauded the city’s initiatives for PUV modernization, as exemplified by the many transport groups that have already complied, with strong support from the local government.

Through HARI CV Sales Head Monch Osorio, Hyundai Trucks and Buses President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo reinforced Hyundai’s commitment to continue the partnership that the company started with the local government of Cavite and their hard-working transport group: “Ang pagtitipon natin ngayon ay siya ring patunay ng ating kalakasan kapag tayo’y sama-sama, tulong-tulong upang mai-angat ang bawat isa.  Atin pong ipagpatuloy ang biyahe tungo sa pag-unlad (Our gathering today is proof of what can be achieved through our collective strength and commitment to uplift one another.  Let us journey forward to progress.).”

As a gesture of reassurance, Maxwell Quilat, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Hyundai Trucks and Buses Alabang, affirmed that their dealership is ready to support Magnificat Transport through complete after-sales service.  He likewise thanked the cooperative and the City of Bacoor for allowing them the opportunity to serve by providing environment-friendly mass transport for the town.

The City of Bacoor, Cavite sees the presence of the Hyundai HD50S Modern PUV Class 3 as an opportunity and sign of confidence in steering people’s mobility towards a better normal. Powered by a 2.9-liter Euro 4-compliant CRDi engine, the HD50S Modern PUV Class 3 provides better fuel efficiency, reliability, and cleaner emissions. It is designed for enhanced stability and power-to-weight ratio, boasting a 3,415-millimeter wheelbase.

The vehicle also features roof-mounted air conditioning, Wi-Fi Router, GPS tracker, CCTV cameras, 7-inch monitor, and speed limit warning buzzer for safety. With front-facing seating arrangement, it can accommodate up to 22 seated passengers, and it’s also equipped with contactless payment through an Auto Fare Collection System (AFCS) to ensure social distancing for the riding public.

It received the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Certificate of Compliance (COC) last year, following the COC received by Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines for the H-100 Modern PUV Class 1 and HD50S Modern PUV Class 2 in 2019.  HD50S Modern PUV Class 3 rounds up Hyundai’s Power Trio of Modern PUVs that meet Philippine National Standards (PNS) and are poised to help the government and the nation journey toward social progress, notwithstanding the pandemic.
