Suspected pusher killed in Cavite; P1M shabu seized


    POLICE killed a suspected drug pusher and seized suspected shabu worth P1 million in a buy-bust operation in Bacoor City, Cavite on Tuesday.

    Col. Marlon Santos of the Cavite PNP identified the fatality as alias Jonel or John Mark, said to be a member of a drug group operating in the province.

    Santos said the operation was conducted at about 4 a.m. at the Amposta Compound in Barangay Sineguelasan.

    He said the fatality apparently sensed he was dealing with a police officer, pulled out a gun and fired at the cop, prompting the other policemen to return fire, killing the suspect.

    Meanwhile, more than P400,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in buy-bust operations in Makati and Pasay from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

    In all, police seized 21 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P102,000 after serving a search warrant in Barangay Guadalupe, Makati City, at about 11:20 p.m.

    One of the target of the operation, identified as Berlin Garces, who is reportedly selling, repacking and distributing illegal drugs, remained at large.

    In Pasay City at about 12:20 a.m., police nabbed two alleged drug users who are both listed in the city’s drug watch list in a buy-bust operation at Tengco St., Barangay 107, Zone 11. The two were identified as Raquel Abaya, 48, and Aldwin Abaya, 48.

    Seized from them were three sachets of suspected shabu worth P64,600.

    Few minutes later, another alleged drug pusher fell into the hands of police who conducted a buy-bust operation at Estrella St., Barangay 14 Zone 1 at about 1:10 a.m.

    Seized from Randel Macatangay, 19, were five sachets of suspected shabu weighing with an estimated value of P149,600. – Noel Talacay, Rod Lagusad, and Christian Oineza
