P54.4M shabu seized in Parañaque, 2 suspects fall


    OPERATIVES of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group arrested two suspected pushers and seized eight kilos of suspected shabu worth P54.4 million in Parañaque City on Saturday night, PNP chief Debold Sinas said yesterday.

    In a report to Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano, Sinas identified the suspects as Marlon Salik Bayan, 32, of San Vicente, Camarines Norte, and Guimalodin Lampa Ebrahim, 27, of Talitay, Maguindanao.

    Sinas said the suspects were nabbed by PDEG operatives in a buy-bust operation at around 7 p.m. near a mall in Bicutan.

    \Aside from the shabu, also seized from the suspects were a Ford Ranger pick-up vehicle and the buy-bust money.

    Sinas said the suspects are regular carriers of shabu from Manila to Mindanao and are members of a large group of drug traffickers, composed mostly of natives from Mindanao based in southern Metro Manila.

    Eight persons were nabbed in buy-bust operations in Mandaluyong, Pasig and Marikina, with over P1 million worth of suspected dangerous drugs seized.

    Brig. Gen Matthew Baccay, Eastern Police District director, identified the eight as Lindy Sorelo, 48; Shane Marqueta, 34; Jinky Moraleda, 46; Soraya Pacasirang, 19, Ernan Madridano, 39; Jun Sioson, 38; Jeevelyn Tulagan,34; and Emilyn Rendal, 27.

    Seize from them were 149.5 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,102,800. – With Noel Talacay and Christian Oineza
