THE Pasig City government yesterday turned over P40 million worth of laptops and tablets to the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) for use of their teachers, school administrators and students for this school year’s online classes.

Mayor Vico Sotto said each PLP teacher and school administrator will get a laptop while 3,410 tablets will be distributed to their students.

“We here at Pasig consider education as one of our top priority. We at the local government allocated around P1.4 billion for education in the city,” Sotto said, adding: “We have to postpone some of our programs in the local government while some projects were cancelled to gather funds for the education system.”

Meanwhile, Antipolo City Mayor Andeng Ynares yesterday said the use of videokes and karaokes in the city will now be restricted to 6 p.m. to 9.p.m, as contained under City Ordinance No. 964 series 2020.

Violators will pay a fine of P1,000 for the first offense, P2,000 for the second and P5,000 or six(6) months imprisonment for third offense.
