THE UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) for the academic year 2021-2022 has been scrapped due to logistical issues, according to the UP website.
The Office of Admissions has set the start of the application period in December 2020. The exact date will be announced soon.
In a memorandum issued by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, majority of University Council members did not deem it feasible to administer the usual test involving around 1,600 testing personnel deployed to 94 testing centers throughout the country.
An online UPCAT examination was not deemed feasible either, primarily due to the length of the exam and variety of items that would require a consistently strong Internet connection.
Originally set to be held last October 10-11, the UPCAT was initially postponed due to the pandemic.
