Military kills sixth most wanted in Maguindanao

MILITARY and police forces killed the sixth most wanted in Maguindanao during an operation in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in the province, a military official reported yesterday.

Maj. Arvin Encinas, spokesman of the AFP Western Mindanao Command based in Zamboanga City, identified the slain suspect as Ebrahim Mudzol Ali, alias Dalupang.

Encinas said troops from the Army’s 90th Infantry Battalion and PNP Criminal investigation and Detection Group in the region swooped down on the lair of Ali in Poblacion Dalican around 5 p.m. Monday to serve arrest warrants.

“While approaching the area, operating troops were fired upon by the suspect which forced them to retaliate. The exchange of fires resulted in the death of the suspect,” Encinas said.
Recovered from Ali’s possession was a cal. 45 pistol with a magazine loaded with seven bullets.

“Ali was the sixth most wanted criminal in Maguindanao and was involved in carnapping and a series of killings in Maguindanao,” said Joint Task Force Central commander Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon.

Wesmincom chief Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana said the military will continue to support the PNP in the conduct of law enforcement operations.

“We continually conduct military and law enforcement support operations to eliminate the menace of society,” said Sobejana.

“Team Wesmincom would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our silent supporters, the LGU, and the civilian communities. They play a big part in the success of our campaign against terrorism and lawlessness,” added Sobejana.
