Man nabbed for trying to smuggle shabu inside NBP

    A 43-year-old resident of Angeles City, Pampanga was arrested last Sunday after trying to smuggle five sachets of suspected shabu hidden in the food he brought inside the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

    Glenn Dayrit was nabbed at Building 14 of the maximum security compound at about 1:45 p.m. when the jail officer noticed the presence of plastic in the food he was bringing inside.

    Master Sgt. Noel Bulan of the Muntinlupa City Police Station said this was the fourth time Dayrit was bringing food in the prison.

    Also seized from Dayrit were two sim cards and a piece of aluminum foil.

    It was reported that Dayrit is delivering food to an inmate convicted of illegal drugs. Bulan said Dayrit was being paid P1,500 to deliver the food.

    Two persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Pasig City yesterday.

    Col. Moises Villaceran, city police head, identified the two as Alvin Calzado, 44, and Edna Dayag, 30.

    Seized from them were seven sachets of suspected shabu.

    A 34-year-old man was also nabbed for possession of marijuana leaves and seedlings in Angono, Rizal last Sunday night.

    Col. Renato Alba, Rizal PNP provincial director, identified the suspect as Joriel Sam Acierto.
