A LOW pressure area was spotted off Cagayan yesterday, threatening to bring rains in northern Luzon in the coming days, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The LPA was some 540 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City as of 3 p.m. yesterday, said weather specialist Robb Gile.
Gile said the weather bureau is not ruling out the possibility the LPA will intensify into a tropical depression.
He also said the rains from the LP will affect northern Luzon today or tomorrow.
PAGASA said Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers, mostly in the afternoon or evening, due to the inter tropical convergence zone.
It said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likewise be party cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers, also in the afternoon or evening, due to localized thunderstorms. – Victor Reyes
