OPERATIVES of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group has rescued a Chinese casino player who was abducted by two fellow Chinese for failing to settle a P1 million debt in Parañaque City on Wednesday.

AKG spokesman Maj. Ronaldo Lumactod said the operation also resulted in the arrest of the suspects, identified as Jiang Zhenqiang, 35, of Jiangsu, China; and Zhu Peijian, 35, of Guandong, China.

The victim who was rescued was identified as Jiang Longgen, 32, of Sichuan, China.

Lumactod said Jiang went to the Okada Resort and Casino in Parañaque City to play casino games early morning Wednesday.

After losing about P1.7 million, Lumactod said the suspects offered to lend the victim P1 million, which the latter also lost in casino games.

Police said the suspects then seized Jiang when he failed to settle his debt and boarded him on a van. A hotel official who witnessed the incident reported the crime to the AKG personnel.

Follow-up operation by AKG personnel led to the rescue of the victim and arrest of the suspects in barangay Tambo, Parañaque City at around 12:30 p.m.
