Duterte to visit wake of soldiers slain by NPA

PRESIDENT Duterte resumes public activities today with a visit to the wake of six soldiers killed in a firefight with communist rebels in Eastern Samar, said Sen. Christopher Go, former special aide to the President.

Go said the President will also visit the 20 soldiers of the Army’s 14th Infantry Battalion wounded in the clash Monday in Borongan City, during which New People’s Army rebels detonated six bombs.

The meeting with the farmers would be re-scheduled, said Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, concurrent presidential spokesman.

He said the postponement had nothing to do with the health of the President.
