OPERATIVES of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested a policeman and his cohort for gunrunning during an entrapment operation in Parañaque City on Saturday night.
PNP chief Debold Sinas yesterday identified the cop as S/Sgt. Reynolfo Ursulum, 50, and his companion, Carvyn Parcon, 21, both of Central Bicutan in Taguig City.
Ursulum is assigned with the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Police Regional Office 7 in Central Visayas.
Citing a report from the CIDG, Sinas said the two were accosted after they sold four assault rifles to a poseur-buyer on Doña Soledad Ave. in Parañaque City at around 10 p.m.
Police seized from the suspects four M4A1 Carbine rifles that they sold to the poseur-buyer, a PNP-issued Taurus 9 mm pistol, magazine assemblies with ammunition, identification and ATM cars and a sports utility vehicle
Police said Ursulum is a member of a gunrunning syndicate operating in Metro Manila.
During questioning, Ursulum said the rifles came from Alabang, Muntinlupa.
