Convicted drug dealer attacks cops, gets killed in Zamboanga


    A CONVICTED drug dealer was shot and killed by policemen when he attacked jail and police officials inside a prison facility in Zamboanga City on Wednesday morning, police reported yesterday.

    The fatality was identified as Ronald Natividad, alias Dodong Toldo, 48, who is serving life at the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Zamboanga City, a facility under the Bureau of Corrections.

    Reports reaching Camp Crame said BuCor personnel, assisted by Zamboanga City policemen, conducted an Oplan Galugad to flush out contraband at Dorms 1 and 2 of the facility at around 9 a.m.

    PNP spokesman Brig. Ildebrandi Usana said Natividad, who was in Dorm 2, “violently resisted the search and attacked BuCor Inspector Ave Akilit with a black foldable knife.”

    Usana said Akilit alerted the back-up policemen, led by Major Orlyn Leyte, “who rushed inside Dorm 2 to rescue the distressed prison official

    “Leyte was stabbed by Natividad; fortunately the knife did not penetrate his body armor. Natividad was shot by another member of the team before he can attack
