FIVE people died and 12 others were injured in a collision between a delivery truck and a passenger bus in Pagbilao town in Quezon on Saturday afternoon.
A report from the Quezon provincial police office identified one of the fatalities as Ma. Analoyd Seyosa Po, 24, of Tacloban City. The four others, one of them said to be a minor, have yet to be identified as of Sunday.
Police said the incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on a diversion road in Sitio Upper Sapini in Barangay Silangang Malicboy.
The north-bound truck, driven by Sander Sisic Soliveres, was negotiating a sharp turn on the road when it hit the CUL passenger bus, driven by Reynaldo Oral Sampilo, on the opposite lane.
Police said the delivery truck encroached on the opposite lane, leading to the collision.
The impact caused the instantaneous death of the five victims on the spot and injured 12 others who were promptly rushed to hospitals.
The injured included the truck driver, who is on hospital arrest at the MMG Hospital in Lucena City. – With Christian Oineza
