A MAGNITUDE 5.7 earthquake rocked Davao Occidental yesterday morning, a day after a similarly strong 6.1 tremor shook Davao del Sur, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
The quake occurred at around 4:08 a.m., with the epicenter located some 118 km southeast of Jose Abad Santos town, Davao Occidental. It was of tectonic in origin and had a depth of 91 km.
The tremor was felt at Intensity I in General Santos and Koronadal City, both in South Cotabato and Alabel and Kiamba towns, both in Sarangani
Phivolcs said aftershocks are expected but it does not anticipate damage from the quake.
