OPERATIVES of the PNP Criminal and Investigation Group arrested three Koreans and two Chinese in operations in Taguig City and Mabalacat, Pampanga on Tuesday.
The CIDG said the Koreans, identified as Lim Yeongjun, Sim Dong Woo and Kwon Hyeoksoo, were nabbed based on red notices issued by the the International Crime Police Organization (Interpol).
Red notices are issued against fugitives for prosecution or to serve a sentence. It is a request to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.
Lim (organization of criminal groups), Sim (fraud) and Kwon (fraud) have been sentenced by a Seoul Central District Court to 10 years of imprisonment each,
The three were arrested by the CIDG operatives at around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Southern Police District compound in Taguig City,
The CIDG said the three are members of a crime group “engaged in online loan fraud operating in the Philippines and in Korea.”
The two Chinese were arrested by CIDG in an operation at the Clark Economic Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga for violation of the Philippine Pharmacy Act.
The two, Hu Shiling, alias Hu Ling; and Liu Wei, alias Lee, were nabbed at around 12:30 p.m. on Florida Street in Fontana Villa.
They were arrested based on an arrest warrant issued by Pampanga Judge Ma. Arabella Eusebio-Rodolfo for violation of Republic Act 10918 or the Philippine Pharmacy Act.
The CIDG said the two operated a pharmaceutical store operating illegally inside the Clark Economic Zone.
The store was raided in May by the CIDG after receiving a complaint that the store was giving medical attention to a COVID-19 patient. Seized at the store were medicines which were “unregistered for public consumption.”
