TWO persons, one of them facing a string of cases in Iloilo, were killed in a firefight with operatives of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group in Antipolo City on Wednesday night, police reported yesterday.
AKG chief Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo identified one of the suspects as Reagan Gepulango, the most wanted person in Tagbauan town in Iloilo. Gepulango’s companion has yet to be identified.
Estomo said AKG men, backed by other policemen from other units, were dispatched to the lair of Gepulango in Blue Mountain in Barangay Sta. Cruz in Antipolo City at around 6:50 p.m. to serve six warrants.
They warrants were for murder, illegal possession of firearms, carnapping, violation of omnibus election code, attempted homicide, and attempted murder.
Estomo said Gepulango and his companion opened fire at the lawmen, who returned fire, killing the two.
AKG spokesman Lt. Col. Ronaldo Lumactod said Gepulango is involved in various criminal activities in Tagbauan, making him the most wanted man in the town.
Lumactod said they were able to pinpoint the whereabouts of Gepulango in Antipolo City through intelligence operations.
