‘Unparalleled: The Art of the Masters’

Galerie Joaquin brings together 26 artists in “Unparalleled: The Art of the Masters,” a celebration of excellence in art through an exhibition of masterly works. The exhibition’s roster of artists focuses on grouping some of the top masters of the land with artists who, through their consistent and creative vision, are proving to be a second generation of stellar names in the art world.

The exhibit will show a collection of works featuring a lineup of renowned masters of fine art: National Artist Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, National Artist Abdulmari Imao, Presidential Medal of Merit Awardee Juvenal Sanso, Cubist virtuoso Angelito Antonio, art educator Raul Isidro, the late Eduardo Castrillo, glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, Norma Belleza, the late genre master Mario Parial, Ephraim Samson, Magoo Valencia and Vic Bachoco; and distinguished second generation masters: Rudolf Gonzalez, Michael Cacnio, Carlo Magno, Juanito Torres, Dominic Rubio, Benjie Mallari, Ombok Villamor, Toym Imao, Nixxio Castrillo, Ram Mallari, Marge Organo, Katrina Cuenca, Faico, and Nap Limaten.

The pieces exhibited examine the views and visions of each artist and the relationship between artistic creativity and their associated life taking into account their career vantage points and cycles. The selected works are representative of the stature of the prodigious old masters, and the rising influence of the younger ones.

The exhibit is a testimony that demonstrates how art, from various perspectives, can inspire and enact change, creating unbridled energy and hope. The notable goal of this exhibit involves a recollection of the role of these artists allowing the audience to both discover and rediscover stimulating exchanges of ideas through art. It is hoped that this project becomes an enterprise which will inspire and create positive energies, empathy, and new understandings.

“Unparalleled: The Art of the Masters” will be on view until August 24, 2020 at Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City.
