A steady amount of physical activity can help children overcome the unnecessary stress that comes with being at home and away from their friends for long periods of timeEspecially at this delicate stage in their lives and as the online school year begins, physical activity has become all the more important in children’s overall health and wellbeing that can also lead to school success.

MILO believes that active kids make for better learners and has remained committed to building champions in sports and in life. As such, together with its long-standing partner sports organizers, they have sponsored a series of online tournaments to help parents keep their kids active and healthy at home.

One example is the MILO-sponsored National Kids Athletics Games Online. Organized by the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA), this is a 2-wave online competition for kids up to 14 years old. The task is to record themselves completing a series of fundamental run, throw, and jump exercises within a specified time limit.

On top of getting quality guidance from star athletes and being named their age group champion, winners will also earn a spot in the Kids Athletics National Games next year. The competition is ongoing and free registration is still open for children interested in participating. To know more details, parents must visit the PATAFA website at www.philathletics.org.

Next year, parents and kids can also look forward to joining the Bida Best Freestyle online contest. Organized by the Basketball Efficiency & Scientific Training (BEST) Center and sponsored by MILO, this virtual event challenges young, aspiring athletes to showcase their basketball skills and creativity. Here, participants will be tasked to create video presentations of them performing ballhandling drills, featuring the BEST 14 taught in the camps and some of their own creation.

BEST Center graduates and current participants are eligible to join, and can choose between 13U or U18 categories. Those interested are encouraged to visit the official MILO® Philippines and BEST Center Sports Inc. Facebook pages to stay updated on the final details.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with PATAFA and BEST Center as we explore other creative outlets to help kids get active and healthy at home,” says Nestlé Philippines Assistant Vice President and MILO Sports Manager Lester Castillo. “With our MILO Home Court program, we remain committed to helping parents find opportunities to continue their kid’s champion journey.”
