The number of SM Foundation Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program graduates continues to increase as batch 204 ended their 12-week training program.
The graduates look forward to forming an association to sustain what they learned in crop cultivation. Members of batch 204 are optimistic they too can become entrepreneurs like other previous graduates of this livelihood training program institutionalized by SM founder Mr. Henry Sy, Sr.
Their objective of forming an association is supported by project partners namely: Tayabas Parish of St. Michael the Archangel Basilica Minor Social Action Center and the Local Government Unit of Tayabas City. Other partners for this batch included DSWD, DA, Harbest Agribusiness Corporation, SM City Lucena, SM Markets and SM City Lucena Cinema which served as venue for the graduation ceremony.
In Rosario, Cavite, another batch of KSK trainees harvested their crops in a harvest festival preceding the graduation ceremony. Batch 207 comprised of 88 trainees. The harvest festival was attended by representatives of SM Foundation, SM group of companies, project partners and Hon. Nestor Llanosa, Barangay Chairman of Sitio Silangan Bonita, who delivered the welcome remarks.
